Sorry about the delay in posting the results, just got back from Camaret:
All solo skippers finished the third and final leg of Petit Bateau 2004
in good time for the prize-giving despite predictions of extended periods
of calm. In fact all boats reported light breezes throughout the leg except
for a few hours.
The prize-giving took place in the sunny garden of the Hotel Vauban.
This was followed by an end of event dinner at the restaurant Abris du
Marin for 24 skippers, family, and PB friends. A hot topic for debate was
the format of PB2005! There is no doubt amongst anyone involved that Petit
Bateau 2004 has been a huge success.

Start time is 1200hrs local time
Ian Wittevrongle - Jaralella has joined the fleet for last leg to
Camaret. Jaralella, a lightweight J92, could be the hot favourite in what
promises to be a light airs race.

An amendment to the Sailing Instructions has been agreed by the
Skippers. In summary, there will be a time limit for leg 3. Boats must
finish by 17:00UTC on Sunday 1st August 2004. Each boat must take it's own
time passing the latitude of Chaussée de Sein buoy, a mark of the
course at the entrance to La Iroise. A decision will be taken
by the skippers on Saturday morning (via VHF radio) whether to shorten the
race in order to maximise the number who finish.

Jerry Freeman - Alice's Mirror, pre-start.
"No wind forecast, eta Sat if lucky."
The solo sailors dined en masse last night. Carbo-loading for the sprint to
Camaret?
